MySet
Terms

The deal, in plain words.

The terms for using MySet, whether you're in the audience, on stage or running the room.

The short version

Who we are

MySet (myset.vip) lets an audience vote from their own phones on what an artist plays next. It is run by Idyll Enterprises in Johnson City, Tennessee, USA ("MySet", "we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us. If you don't agree with them, please don't use MySet.

You must be at least 13 to use MySet. To make an artist or venue account, sell anything or get paid, you must be old enough to make a binding contract where you live (18 in most places) and meet Stripe's requirements.

If you're in the audience

No account. Your phone keeps a random ID so the page knows which votes are yours. Anything tied to it, such as votes you've bought and not used, stays on that phone and browser; if you clear its site data, we can't get it back.

Who you're paying. Tips, vote packs, paid votes, paid song requests and merch are sold by the artist or venue whose page you're on, through their own Stripe account. They are the seller of record and they set their prices. MySet takes a fee from their side of the sale; you pay the price shown. (On the founder's own artist page, MySet itself is the seller.)

Votes are final. Once you confirm a vote, it's spent. Votes you bought and didn't use carry over to that artist's next show. If an artist declines your request, or passes on a song you voted for, the votes come back to you.

Paid song requests. When you offer money for a request, your card is only held. You're charged if the artist plays and finishes the song. If they decline it, or the show ends before it's played, the hold is released and you pay nothing.

Refunds. A tip or a vote is a payment to the artist, and refunds are their call. They handle them in their Stripe account. If you can't reach them, email us with the show and roughly when, and we'll pass it on. Nothing here takes away a right to a refund that the law gives you.

Merch. The artist or venue sells, ships or hands over your order, and handles returns and problems with it. The shop tells you whether an item ships or is picked up at the show.

Be decent. Don't flood a show with votes by script, don't try to break or fool the voting, and don't post anything that breaks the content rules below.

If you're an artist or a venue

Your account. Keep your sign-in safe; you're responsible for what happens under it. The owner of a page decides who else gets a seat on it, and answers for what they do there. One email can hold one artist page.

Getting paid. Payments to you are processed by Stripe on your own Stripe account. Payment processing services for artists and venues on MySet are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service (together, the "Stripe Services Agreement"). By getting paid through MySet, you agree to the Stripe Services Agreement, as Stripe may change it from time to time. As a condition of MySet enabling payment processing through Stripe, you agree to give us accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you authorize us to share it, and transaction information related to your use of the payment processing services provided by Stripe.

Our fee and Stripe's. MySet takes a fee on each sale made through your page, set by your plan and shown in the Studio. Stripe's own card fee comes out of your side too. How often you're paid out depends on your plan and on Stripe.

You're the seller. For tips, votes, requests and merch sold on your page, you are the merchant. That means:

Performing songs. Playing other people's music in public needs a licence, which is usually the venue's. MySet doesn't provide one.

The verified tick means a page passed our checks. It can't be bought, and it isn't an endorsement.

Booking an act

A host can ask an artist on MySet to play their event, and book them on the artist's quote. A booking is an agreement between the host and the artist, and MySet's booking terms say how it's made, paid, changed and cancelled. Unlike a tip or merch, a booking paid through MySet is collected by MySet on the artist's behalf, as their agent, and passed on to them once it's theirs.

Paid plans

Plans and featured spots are sold by us, so a question about one comes to hello@myset.vip.

What you post

It stays yours. Photos, clips, posts, diaries, song lists, merch pictures and messages belong to whoever made them. By posting on MySet, you give us permission to store it, show it on MySet, and use it to show off your page (in a share card or a featured spot, say), for as long as it's up. That permission ends when you delete it, apart from copies in backups.

Only post what you have the right to post. Nothing that is:

Venues, and artists on a paid plan, can hide posts on their own pages. We can remove anything that breaks these rules, and suspend or close an account that keeps breaking them.

Lyrics on the voting page come from LRCLIB, a community collection, and are shown as unofficial, for singing along in the room. An artist can remove them from any song.

Something of yours posted without permission? Email hello@myset.vip with a link to it and why it's yours, and we'll look into it and take it down if it shouldn't be there.

Sample pages

We sometimes build a sample page for an artist or venue from what they've already made public, and send them the link. Only the artist or venue it's about may claim it; claiming it makes it a free account under these terms. If you'd rather it didn't exist, tell us and it's deleted. The privacy notice has the details.

The service

MySet is built so the room can keep voting when something goes wrong, and we work hard to keep it running. Still, we can't promise it will always be available, fast or free of mistakes, and we may change, add or remove features.

Leaving. Fans can simply stop using it. Artists and venues can download their data and delete their account from the Studio; there are 30 days to change your mind before it's erased. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk, and where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why first.
